Family policies
What families ask before the first day.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
Please keep a student home with a fever or vomiting until the next morning. The office calls a parent when a student is unwell at school, and we ask that someone can come as soon as they can.
Drop-off and pickup
Dismissal is at the front door. A teacher walks each student out, and only the adults on the family's pickup list may collect a student. Please bring photo ID if a teacher does not know you yet.
Closures for weather and holidays
The school closes for Mardi Gras break, the winter break and the usual holidays. When a named storm closes schools in the parish, we close too, and the office texts and emails families as early as it can. Every August the office sends a short plan for storm days.
Screens and phones
Phones stay in backpacks, switched off, from the first bell to the last. A parent who needs to reach a student calls the office, and a teacher brings the student to the phone.
What to wear and bring
Students wear a collared shirt in navy or white and dark pants, skirt or shorts, with closed shoes for the yard. The office has a short list at the visit, and secondhand pieces are welcome.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Families pack lunch or order a hot lunch from a local caterer by the month. Tell us about allergies at the visit; we ask privately once you enroll.
Leaving the program
We ask for thirty days' notice in writing. The office goes through what it means for a term in progress before a family signs the enrollment agreement.
