Safety routines
Arrival and dismissal
A teacher greets each student at the front door in the morning and walks each student out in the afternoon. Only the adults on the family's pickup list may collect a student.
Visitors
Every visitor signs in at the office and wears a badge. Parents who help in a classroom sign in the same way.
Drills
We practice fire drills and storm drills on a calendar the head of school keeps, and teachers tell students what each drill is before it happens.
Storm days
Every August the office sends families a short plan for storm days: when the school closes, how the office reaches you and where to find news.
Allergies
Tell us about allergies at the visit; we ask privately once you enroll. Each teacher keeps the plan for the students in the room.
Illness
A student who is unwell stays home until the next morning, and the office calls a parent when a student is unwell at school.
